oh am why am i saying this, and i ve tittled it as foodie's paradise.!!
I still see our city in that culture, tho it has grown leaps and bounds in all sectors.. one of the place where its still kept up @ V.V.Puram.
Its usual to eat out every now and then, this time i decided to do away from usual chinese, or north india etc etc.. had been to a mela organised at the above mentioned place for lunch,
as every season has its own flavors on food, the winter season is for the flat bean ( the avare kye) should ve heard abt it.
The mela's name is the averakye mela, organised every year in the month of December and Jan. Every food served her as the flavor of the avarekye.
The food served here is just awesome, the taste of avare bele in all is just superb.
I stared the journey of hogging with the obotu, then to dosa, roti, kodebale, jamoon, paysam,..... ( unable to remember quite a few of them :P ) btw there was even upma, and other things, which i couldn't taste, as i was done by those earlier menu :P
I was amazed by the no. and kinda of ppl who came in there, people of all ages where present, number was ecstatic.. luckly i was early there, and by the time i had finished it was filled with people hardly any space to move,
The strange thing was i found ppl on wheel chair coming there and eathing, which just showed how curious people are to taste different kinda of food, and there love of the avare bele..:)

After visiting this place just realized how many variety of food can just be prepared with one set of flat bean!!
I was also amazed by the cost of each item, is comparably lesser, as food severed is of high quality and taste.

At the end in the search of the something different did pay off.. there was mineral water at disposal to drink, but one thing is u have to stand and eat on road, if u ve not restriction on that regard, then next year do make an attempt to visit this place and enjoy the food!!
Had read about this in the paper! Glad to see so many pictures! Especially of the sweets made of avare beLe!
ReplyDeleteEven on a daily basis, VV Puram has one road with stalls that serves rasta food. It is a very popular place to grab some yummy (not so healthy) snacks!
