The P in P series : Prathap in Pune

When I got a mail saying I have to be moving to Pune to work, it was extremely shocking, life for me has been Bangalore as was bought there. Moving out of the state to live with set of unknown people was something which was never attempted before ( in the true style, as they say in stunt shows). Till date I had been out of house for just 10 days, during schooling for NCC camp on the outskirts of the city without any interaction with parents face to face and other people who were close to me, with teachers to keep tab.  Which it self was taxing on me.

Now, have completed two months of my life in pune, having visited few places which are quite near from city. The stay so far has been neither wonderful nor really bad.  Before coming here people said its all like Bangalore you will hardly feel the difference, but I beg to differ on few aspects on that, also I stay outside the city, so the opinion about the city isn't great,  though have visited the city quite a few times, I don't find it as beautiful or good as Namma Bengaluru.  Moving to an unknown city is not very easy, I was lucky enough to have few friends from my college here, who made my transition extremely smooth and quite enjoyable.

Language hasn't been a great issue during my short period of stay, if you know the national Language Hindi, you can some how live it off, as people do speak Hindi.

During the NCC camp every interaction with people in house used to be very emotional, Oh wasn't I young then :P ,  I am do emotional  now a bit only, I miss my home to the core, earlier when some one said its very difficult to stay from house, I could only sympathize, never could empathize completely,  now I can feel it.  When u stay away from house you miss out on those small happiness and close interactions, and also the friends who are always a step away to meet n hang out. Though their has been advancement in technology, like the mobile phone and facebook and skype the sense of being far is less, there is nothing like being next to each other and sharing a moment.

Growth story in a nut shell!!

Today's Times of India had a special supplementary, it has a small extract of the 15th Aug 1947 paper.  As I was going through it , on curiosity,  i saw the cost of the news paper, it was just "TWO ANNAS" .  In order to know more about the anna's concept, consulted the elderly people in the house, if they had used, n other things.  In reply Dad said, no son , I have not used anna's, during my age, we used only "Naya Paisa" the concept of anna's had gone!

All of a Sudden, I remembered the way, how we all used to get screwed by elders " you are not even worth of a naya paisa"
On similar grounds they would have got screwed by there elders " you are not even worth of a Anna"
Now a days we use it as a slang, " Its not even worth a Rupee"
Days are far behind when all would use " you are not even worth a 1000 bucks!! " :P

Wow, India is growing in all regards :) :)

This the Growth story in a Nut shell!

A foodie's paradise..:

The word bengaluru is the official name of our beautiful city.. as many of the names are derived from something or the other, so is the name of our city, i was once told by my grand mother that while she was young she had visited the then city, and its name was bendakaluru, which means, a place where boiled grains are sold (literally)
oh am why am i saying this, and i ve tittled it as foodie's paradise.!!

I still see our city in that culture, tho it has grown leaps and bounds in all sectors.. one of the place where its still kept up @ V.V.Puram.

Its usual to eat out every now and then, this time i decided to do away from usual chinese, or north india etc etc.. had been to a mela organised at the above mentioned place for lunch,
as every season has its own flavors on food, the winter season is for the flat bean ( the avare kye) should ve heard abt it.

The mela's name is the averakye mela, organised every year in the month of December and Jan. Every food served her as the flavor of the avarekye.
The food served here is just awesome, the taste of avare bele in all is just superb.
I stared the journey of hogging with the obotu, then to dosa, roti, kodebale, jamoon, paysam,..... ( unable to remember quite a few of them :P ) btw there was even upma, and other things, which i couldn't taste, as i was done by those earlier menu :P

I  was amazed by the no. and kinda of ppl who came in there, people of all ages where present, number was ecstatic.. luckly i was early there, and by the time i had finished it was filled with people hardly any space to move,
The strange thing was i found ppl on wheel chair coming there and eathing, which just showed how curious people are to taste different kinda of food, and there love of the avare bele..:)

Men @ work
The side dish for most of items are given are its also made of the avarebele, which has no limit :P, though much is not required.
After visiting this place just realized how many variety of food can just be prepared with one set of flat bean!!
I was also amazed by the cost of each item, is comparably lesser, as food severed is of high quality and taste.

Had never taste this
chikke with avare bele init

sweets with avarebele in it

At the end in the search of the something different did pay off.. there was mineral water at disposal to drink, but one thing is u have to stand and eat on road, if u ve not restriction on that regard, then next year do make an attempt to visit this place and enjoy the food!!
